Our Story
The story of Haweli is one of passion, perseverance, and fortuitous partnership. Our founder, Nasir, began his journey in the hospitality industry as a humble waiter and delivery boy. Through unwavering determination and hard work, he climbed the ranks over 15 years to become a successful restaurateur.
In his quest to establish a distinctive culinary enterprise, Nasir found himself in search of a restaurant business opportunity. It was during this pursuit that he had the good fortune of encountering Farooq, a like-minded individual with aspirations of managing a business venture. Recognising their complementary skills and shared vision, they decided to join forces.
Nasir, with his extensive experience in the restaurant industry, took on the responsibility of developing the brand identity. Meanwhile, Farooq’s managerial acumen proved to be the perfect complement to Nasir’s creative and highly entrepreneurial flair. Together, they embarked on the journey of founding Haweli. Nasir’s entrepreneurial flair kept him working on the business, while Farooq’s management skills made him more involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.
The name “Haweli” was chosen with great deliberation. In Urdu, “haweli” refers to a traditional mansion or large house, often associated with grandeur, hospitality, and a rich cultural heritage. The name was deemed most fitting for a restaurant dedicated to serving authentic Pakistani cuisine. We at Haweli aspire to be true to our name, a culinary mansion in the heart of London, offering patrons a taste of Pakistan’s rich gastronomic heritage.
